First Hindi anthology of poems from Lakshadweep

Jazeem Sherin, a 15-year-old has just written and published an anthology of poems, said to be the first of its kind from the Lakshadweep islands. The Class X student of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kavaratti. The book was released by P.V. Krishnan Nair, Secretary, Kerala Sangeeta Nataka Akademi.

Titled ‘Pehla Kadam’, meaning first step, she has written 14 poems about thoughts that go through our minds. And the most beautiful part is that she’s dedicated it to her drawing teacher. And each poem goes hand in hand with a sketch – one even by her father, Jaffer Shah.
